To help celebrate the personality of my new car -- as I never did manage to do with my old CLK 320 -- I decided that I needed to get him a nameplate. Him, you ask? Yes, I've always rejected the notion that vehicles are naturally feminine in nature. And goodness knows I wouldn't be caught dead frolicking with a woman! So, this is  my new baby boy.

Borrowing from a nickname I got from some of my more colorful friends, I decided that my new guy would be named Trollop. The DMV, unfortunately, declares this a bad word so I had to compromise and used Trollup instead.

I ordered the plates early so that they'd be here in time for Trollup's arrival. They arrived a little early as it turned out -- those government people always try to keep us guessing! -- and so the name tag had to live on my old CLK for a while. For now, the plate lives on my CLK320, as I would have otherwise had to play the plate dance after waiting for real plates to arrive for my SLK. In any event, these will move to my new baby as soon as he bounces into my dealership.

After finishing the final paperwork to make Trollup my own, and before I actually took my first drive in him, the plate went on the car. Sadly, it was dark and I was without a proper camera... or I would have captured the moment. But here is a picture of him with his name tag on... so precious!
